Dr. Suzanne J. Ferree has been in practice in North Fulton since 2003. She graduated Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1998, and went on to internship in General Surgery at Georgia Baptist Medical Center. After her first year in General Surgery, she entered the U S Navy as a General Medical Officer for three years. Following her tour of duty, she was awarded an internship in Charlotte at Carolinas Medical Center. She finished her training at Emory University in 2005, earning the Resident of the Year and Resident Teacher Awards. Dr. Ferree is Board Certified in Family Medicine with interests in geriatrics, office gynecology, diabetes, and heart disease. Because of her original interest in general surgery, Dr. Ferree still performs several minor procedures in the office.
Dana Carpenter, MD, CMO Dr. Carpenter brings nearly 20 years of valuable and varied healthcare experience to mdDigest. She recognizes the importance of employing technology to provide more efficient, economical and accessible healthcare. She is a firm believer in using innovative technology to enhance patient safety and quality of care, improve doctor–patient communication and increase practice efficiency while controlling healthcare costs and providing patients with effective means by which to manage and share their personal health records. Although health is her passion, Dr. Carpenter also loves traveling with her husband and their adorable “mini-doodle”, Wrigley.
Jim Hansen, Corporate Advisor
Jim Hansen serves as Vice President and Executive Director of the Dossia Consortium, a not-for-profit association that brings together major employers to advance the use of a secure, patient-centric health platform to deliver actionable applications for both consumer/patients and health care providers to improve the safety, quality and efficiency of health care.
Prior to joining the Dossia Consortium, Jim Hansen was President and CEO of CareEntrust, an award-winning not-for-profit employer-sponsored health information exchange (HIE) delivering a secure regional health record service for use by both consumer/patients and health care providers. Operational in May 2007, the service combines clinical, claims and patient self-entered/up-loaded data into a single personally-controlled record. CareEntrust’s 20+ employer sponsors included four hospital systems, the State of Kansas, Federal Reserve Bank, and large Kansas City area headquartered businesses such as Sprint, American Century Investments, H&R Block and Lockton Benefits.
Mr. Hansen possesses 25+ years of information technology, strategic planning, product development, marketing and finance experience including 15 years within the health care industry. Prior to CareEntrust, he has previously held numerous health care leadership positions at IDC Health Industry Insights (a world-wide industry analyst firm), First Consulting Group (now part of CSC) and United Healthcare/Ingenix. During the six years at First Consulting Group, Mr. Hansen led eHealth strategy consulting and health information system development, selection and implementation initiatives at hospitals and health plans across the country, as well as targeted research and analysis for health care industry-focused venture capital and start-up organizations.
He has recently been actively involved in a number of national, state and local level HIT/HIE related initiatives, as well as serving on committees within eHealth Initiative, Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), Health Record Banking Alliance and the ASTM Health Care Standards Committee (E31). Mr. Hansen holds BS Business Administration (Information Management emphasis) and MBA degrees from the University of Colorado.

He has significant international experience from working in Asia-Pacific and European countries, as well as in the USA, managing and consulting world-class service organizations. Wilhelm is an accomplished and a proven “Problem Breaker”. He is an expert in performance and productivity improvements, (Six Sigma Black Belt), streamlining and improving service operations and business processes, as well as designing and launching service support structures and processes for start-up businesses in the technology industry.
